All my invitations are available at www.loveandcherish.co.uk I have decided that I am going to start a blog about my handmade cards. I am involved in many other things but this is what I enjoy doing the most. I am happy to share hints and tips and welcome anyone's thoughts and feedback.
My main aim is to create high quality good looking cards without the extreme cost. I am aware there is a lot of time that goes into handmade cards but my pleasure comes from the end result and of course my happy customer. When your motivation to succeed is not based around money you will be surprised how much more you enjoy what your doing and the great thing the money takes care of itself and comes along just nicely. That of course is just my opinion and I have lived my life not motivated by money and I've not done too bad so far.
This invitation was designed for my mother in-laws 80th (no pressure lol)
Anyway she wanted something a little different and was well a talking point. The butterfly acts as a closing mechanism for the card so there is no need to use the more traditional methods to keep it closed. This card is so versatile and I have created many invitations from the basic design. Adding the odd gem hear and bit of ribbon there a fabulous card was emerged. Although this was done in hot pink it looks awesome in black and white.
I try to create lots of different designs and now have taken to asking my customers for their themes to help me create completely new and individual designs for them. This is fabulous for getting the brain working.
I have recently bought a sizzix big-shot a great machine for embossing no more messing about doing it by hand. It saves a lot of time. There are a lot of different embossing folders available for the machine and other brands can also be used which makes the machine even more versatile. The only problem I have though to be fair is that on occasions I am restricted with the embossing folders as they are sealed at one end which makes it difficult embossing some cards due to their size and shape.
I have also just bought a Cricut machine and that looks fab not been able to try it yet though as I purchased it from the states and I need an adapter - Typical. Really looking forward to making a start with it.
Currently working on two customer orders and in discussion with another 5. This might not seem many but at the moment I am able to make the cards within days of receiving the orders. As I work through the invitations I will regularly update this blog and would really appreciate any feedback or comments you may have.
